How we rate platforms
Every score is calculated from verifiable facts taken from each platform's own public pages. No part of a score is a gut feeling, and none of it can be bought.

Our criteria
Free access (20%)
Unlimited free chat: 10. Confirmed free start: 7. No free option: 2. Not verified: 5.
Price (25%)
Average of two scores: the month-to-month price and the lowest monthly price on a longer plan. 10 points up to 4 €/$ a month, then 0.35 points less per €/$ above that (minimum 2). Price not shown publicly: 5.
Features (35%)
2 base points, then up to 8 points for six features: images, voice messages, calls, video, group chat and a mobile app.
Privacy & payments (20%)
2 base points, +4 if the name on your bank statement is discreet, +2 if crypto is accepted, +1 for Apple Pay or Google Pay, +1 for PayPal.
A fact we could not verify counts half. The final score is the weighted average out of 10, divided by 2 (score out of 5), rounded to one decimal. Ties are broken by the lower price.
Affiliate links never enter the calculation: the formula has no input for them.

What about conversation quality?
It is not in the score yet: it needs a hands-on test on a real account (what is allowed on the free plan, memory, reply speed). We will add it for every platform at the same time once those tests are done.
Independence
Affiliate commissions never change scores or rankings. Sponsored placements, such as pop-ups, are always labelled “Sponsored”.
